Summer Workshop – Sea Turtle Painting & Sand Raking
Enjoy great company and artsy fun! Get creative with a day workshop at the beach.
Description
In this workshop you will learn to paint a sea turtle in acrylic paint on canvas board.
Much like paint and sip classes, you will recreate an original painting with step by step instruction and guidance.
This painting is particularly special, and takes longer than most paint and sip paintings. The results are worth the extra time, though!
In addition to creating a sea turtle painting, we will also go to the beach to sand rake a design of a sea turtle into the sand. Sand raking is a very rare and unique form of art, that will be an experience that you’ll never forget.

Included
Lunch is included. Enjoy a lunch break with croissant sandwiches and fresh fruit.
Tote bag included. Take home a tote bag with the original Sea Turtle painting on it.
Drinks are included. We have a selection of sparkling juices, mimosas, white wine, and red wine.
Your own work of art is included, and made by you. Everything needed to create your art is included.

What to bring
sun glasses, sunblock, and a hat
refillable water bottle
What to wear
comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting paint or sand on
sandals that you can remove easily on the beach while sand raking
layering clothes is best for the Oregon Coast since the weather can be unpredictable
Ecotourism
In 2024 a sea turtle beached nearby my studio. I tried to save the amazing creature, but the experts say it had passed away from hypothermia before it even reached the sand. This experience is what inspired the painting for this class, and inspired making donations to local organizations that work with sea turtles. Every registration is a $20 donation to either the Oregon Coast Aquarium or Sea Turtles Forever.

This workshop is limited to ages 16 and over. There's a lot of opportunities to socialize during class, and at times there might be mature conversation. If a student isn’t mature enough to keep from disrupting the class they will be asked to leave and no refund will be issued (this rule applies to all ages).
Feel free to bring any food or drinks you'd like. There are beverages available in the studio, and lunch is provided during this workshop.

We're a small business (basically a one woman show) and we're dedicated to doing everything we can to give you a creative and artistic experience. We do not give refunds, but we do issue codes for another class if your cancellation meets our policy rules.

The sand raking portion of this workshop takes place on the beach. All participants must be able to comfortably walk and use a rake on the beach. If mobility is a consideration we are happy to bring a beach chair for you to watch the fun and enjoy the beach.
