Learn the process
We walk you through the process making it easy and exciting
Digital Design
When I create a mural design I create it digitally. This makes small adjustments easier. If city approval is needed the application process is easy with the scaled digital design I provide. The design is also fun to use in social media campaigns or to show customers.
Design Approval
I want you to be thrilled about the design. I will edit your design 3 times without extra cost. I understand if editing is still needed after those edits, and each additional edit is only $50. Small edits like lettering font changes are included.
Mural Site Preparation
The site for your mural must be prepared for the mural process. I have an experienced construction worker on my team to help with that. The initial site evaluation is included in the cost of the mural. Any additional work needed will be quoted.
Surface
The surface for the mural must be clean, have no large cracks, and have a primer coat of paint. The surface can have texture, and can have any kind of outdoor acrylic paint on it. The better the surface is before the mural is painted the longer the mural will last.
Weather
Mural paint and varnish can only cure when the temperature is above 70 degrees. Humidity slows the drying process of the paint and can ruin the integrity of the varnish causing cloudiness. On the Oregon Coast I only have enough time each year to complete 2 murals. I do travel outside of Oregon for mural work.
Painting
I start the painting process at night with a projection of our digital design. After I get the outline of the mural onto the surface I will work diligently whenever the weather permits. I finish the mural with a UV varnish. I like to use at least 3 coats of varnish to protect from the elements.
