Without the discovery of firing clay civilization might never have evolve as it has. Wood firing is the history of civilization recorded in clay. As our knowledge increased so did our uses for clay. From simple figures, bowls, storage jars, and even as a medium for writing on, all were wood fired.
This wood kiln fired stoneware pot was handmade and fired to cone 10 (2381o F, 1305oC).
It is food safe and can withstand oven temperatures.
Hand washing is recommended because dishwashers tend to cause chipping.
This bowl is approximately 5" tall and has a mouth that is approximately 8" wide.
This pot is one of a kind and not part of a series, making it a truly unique piece. It can be a stand alone piece used for home decoration, but it is made so that it can also be used for anything including baking at any temperature.
